how to get meditation

There is a famous story of a Master of Kundalini Yoga, which was desperate to increase the amount of time he spent doing his daily meditation practice. History Yogi said that his horse tail nailed to the wall so that when he started to dose off, he would be rudely awakened by your widget, and that this technique allowed him to meditate successfully for 22 hours. Are you ready for this? Fortunately, 22 hours of daily meditation is not a prerequisite for spiritual growth or enlightenment, but the point of the story is that the question is not cheap either. How long should one meditate daily?
Before entering the numbers is important to clarify exactly what type of meditation that we are talking about here. There are many schools of meditation, each with its own techniques and methods.
Here, we refer to the meditations that are done are mostly physically yet. So this will include Zen meditation (zazen), Vipassana Meditation vision, jyana yoga, Silent Mind (SM) Meditations, and meditations that use an object for concentration (3rd eye meditation, mantra meditation, visualization, sound, trataka (looking at a candle flame), 3 step rhythmic breathing (3srb), meditation or fluctuation similar meditation on the breath, etc.).
The other types of meditations involving dance (Shiva Tandava – dance of death), the meditations Osho (kundalini, dynamics, etc), laya yoga meditation, and other such meditations have specific time requirements for the work of its magic and I do not mean them in this debate. So now to the numbers.
The minimum goal should be set aside for daily meditation is 20 minutes. Why do 20 minutes of meditation? From my experience I can say that 20 minutes a day proved very effective. Everything in its own turn just start. Others, over time, probably also have found that this amount of time that has worked well for positive change in themselves and what the number has become the standard de facto practice of beginning.
The next step is 30 minutes, 2 times a day. On my trip to Zen Mountain Monastery for its training program Zazen, 30 minutes is the minimum time required for any session of zazen. Also, curiously, in the Zen Mountain Monastery, you could ask to be hit with a stick on his shoulders (especially acupressure points) to help stay awake, the flight of emotional baggage from your system or as an aid to go further. This is called keisaku and can function as an alternative technique for you if you have long hair like our friend Yogi above. So work your way up to 30 minutes meditation, and try to do that twice a day if possible.
Finally, you must build a 1 hour constant practice of meditation daily. To extract maximum benefit from a meditation program is the golden number.
To get to the experience of "Big Mind" as Zen Master Shunryu Suzuki describes the individual state, or "Big Auto" as described by the Advaita Vedanta teacher, or to get to the explosion of knowledge as suggested by J. Krishnamurti and the silent mind Meditations, 1 hour of meditation is usually necessary. This is mainly because it takes some time for the thought process to decrease and for us to extract ourselves from the daily drama of our little egos.
So there you have it. Start and end of the 20 minutes of daily meditation, and then build up to 1 hour. You'll find everything you are looking for, as you'll find everything you are.
